Course Description:

Times are changing in the HME industry.  With competitive bidding changing the landscape of our environment, it is more important than ever to provide your team with the training and techniques which can help them succeed.  Medicare set the standard in reimbursement practices for our industry, but let’s face it; Medicare isn’t the only show in town.  Providers need to have the tools to work with all payers and set up their operation from intake through billing and encompass the entire revenue cycle.  This all day program will cover training, processes, protocols and methods to help your company move forward with a plan for success during these troubling times.

Learning Objectives:

·         Discuss protocols to promote organized workflows from intake through billing to assist with claim processing for all payers.

·         Explain medical documentation processing methods which enhance the tracking of paperwork to prove medical necessity.

·         Interpret Medicare coverage criteria requirements on a sampling of 4 products.

·         Discuss billing and denial management techniques to improve operations and claim approvals for all payers.

·         Identify common commercial/Medicaid payer behavior in claim processing and describe the current state of Medicare audits.
